My daughter who is 15 just got back from 8 days in Guatemala. She will never be the same, and I as a Mom am forever grateful. Having her see so many people, who are hungry for something more, was a gift of a lifetime. She got in at about 11:30 pm last night but was awake enough to share a few stories with us, and I can tell you my heart was beaming with joy and love.
Sitting in front of me was this young woman. She somehow matured and it was amazing to watch. She’s now traveled further than I ever have. She’s seen things I’ve only dreamnt of seeing. She got out of her comfort zone and learned to pray over people and sometimes just hugged the young girls while they wept. Many of these children had really sad backgrounds.
I am so happy to be a part of New Heights Church, they value putting the kids to work, having them put in motion what God is doing in their lives. It’s good. Really good. So good. Maybe the Lord is calling you to put love in to motion and do something you would never dream of doing! Maybe a mission trip is just what the doctor ordered. Check out Kids n Missions in Guatemala, they are doing great things!
